Ridelu

This is a foundation created by Ridelu in a way for the hotel to be able to give back to the community it belongs to, to have a direct contact with every person, and be able to better understand the impacts its activity has in the surrounding area and the best way to help the ones who need it most. Some of Ridelu Helps' initiatives focus on social responsibility, some on environmental and economical sustainability, and more. Firstly, the hotel hosts several volunteering events throughout the year, with the goal of helping the ones who need it most. An example is the distribution of basic needs items, like groceries and medication, in a way to encourage people to help the community, even the guests staying at the hotel. The volunteers are encouraged to stay in contact with the people they help, to create a routine and break up loneliness. In special times, like the Holy Week and Christmas, when these matters are hightened, the hotel makes and distributes extra meals to the community...

  Ridelu is a 50-room boutique hotel, located in the Fango Valley, in the island of Corsica. It's a modern-luxury hotel, that offers activities for the whole family, groups, and even solo experiences, surrounded by breath-taking views. It has a tranquil, elegant and comfortable atmosphere, in an infinite contact with nature. The rooms are named after interesting places around the hotel, and are separated into four categories. The hotel also includes a restaurant that serves local French and Italian traditional dishes, along with many vegetarian and vegan options and adaptations. The adjacent bar has a sophisticated environment and serves appetizers, fresh juices, cocktails, wine and local organic beer. During the First Punic War, in the year 259 BC, Ercole Ricci, along with the roman army, arrived in Corsica, where he was rewarded a piece of land by Lucius Cornelius Scipio, due to his hard work in leading his soldiers. In a spring afternoon, while Ercole was exploring that village, he found Fiora, a small Corsican merchant helper, that wanted to sell him a pair of shoes. Looking into her eyes, he felt like she deserved a much better future and, with her, his would be too. From then on, they started meeting every day in hiding at the Fango Valley. Ercole then decided to build a two-story house. The floor upstairs would be where the couple would live. The ground floor would be dedicated to Fiora’s dream of having a café. A few years later, the Ridelu Café became one of the better known in the area due to the couple’s hospitality.
